1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Clarity in Love ("the App", "we", "us", "our") handles your information. It applies to all users of the App on iOS.

We built Clarity in Love as a private, personal space for emotional self-reflection. That mission only works if you can trust that your most personal thoughts stay private. So we designed the App from the ground up to collect nothing — no accounts, no analytics, no data transmission of any kind.

This policy is written to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act / California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), and Apple App Store requirements.

2. What Data We Collect

2.1 Data you enter into the App

When you use Clarity in Love, you may enter:

• Emotional check-ins and mood states
• Journal entries and written reflections
• Streak and usage data
• Any other personal content you choose to record

All of this data is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's standard iOS storage (UserDefaults / AppStorage). It is never transmitted to us, to any server, or to any third party. We have no copy of it, no access to it, and no ability to retrieve it.

2.2 Data the App does NOT collect

To be explicit, the App does not collect:

• Your name, email address, phone number, or any contact information
• Your location
• Your device identifiers (IDFA, IDFV, or similar)
• IP address or network information
• Usage analytics or behavioural data
• Crash reports
• Advertising identifiers
• Any biometric or health data

2.3 No user accounts

The App has no login, no registration, and no user accounts of any kind. There is nothing to sign up for and no profile to create.

3. How We Use Data

Because we collect no data, there is nothing for us to use, process, analyse, or share.

The data you enter into the App (check-ins, journal entries, mood states) is used only to power the features you see on your screen — displaying your history, calculating your streak, and showing your patterns over time. This processing happens entirely on your device and is never sent to us.

4. Third-Party Services

The App contains no third-party SDKs, libraries, analytics tools, advertising networks, crash reporting services, or tracking frameworks of any kind. It is built exclusively with Apple's first-party iOS frameworks.

The one exception is the "Book a Call" button. When you tap this button, the App opens a Calendly booking page in Safari (your device's external browser). This is a standard hyperlink — no data from the App is passed to Calendly, and the Calendly page loads in a separate browser session entirely outside the App.

Once you leave the App and enter Calendly (or any external website), that website's own privacy policy applies. We encourage you to review Calendly's Privacy Policy before booking. We have no control over, and no responsibility for, data collected by Calendly or any external website.

5. Local Push Notifications

The App may send you local push notifications (for example, daily check-in reminders). These notifications are:

• Scheduled and delivered entirely on your device by iOS
• Never routed through any external server
• Not associated with any personal data
• Only sent if you grant notification permission

You can disable notifications at any time in iPhone Settings → Notifications → Clarity in Love. No data leaves your device as a result of notifications, and revoking permission has no effect on any other App functionality.

6. Children's Privacy

Clarity in Love is designed for adults aged 18 and over. The App is rated 18+ on the App Store and is not directed at, marketed to, or intended for use by anyone under the age of 18.

Because the App collects no personal data from any user, it collects no data from minors either. If you are under 18, please do not use this App.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe a minor has used the App, please be aware that any data they entered is stored only on the device and can be permanently deleted using the in-app Settings → Clear All My Data option, or by deleting the App.

7. Your Rights

Under GDPR (EU and UK), CCPA/CPRA (California), and other applicable privacy laws, you have rights including access, correction, deletion, portability, and the right to object to processing.

Because Clarity in Love stores all data exclusively on your device and transmits nothing to us, we hold no data about you on any server. There is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete on your behalf.

For California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

We do not sell, share, or disclose personal information to third parties — because we do not collect any personal information. There is nothing to sell, share, or disclose. You have no opt-out to exercise because no data sale or sharing has ever occurred.

For EU and UK residents (GDPR / UK GDPR)

We are not required to appoint a Data Protection Officer (DPO) because we do not process personal data. There is no applicable legal basis for processing because no processing of personal data takes place on our part. No data transfers outside the EEA or UK are made by us.

If you are in the EU and believe your rights have not been respected, you may lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. In Romania: ANSPDCP — www.dataprotection.ro.

8. Data Security

All data stored by the App on your device is protected by Apple's built-in security infrastructure:

• Device encryption: iOS encrypts all data stored on your iPhone using AES-256 encryption by default. This encryption is active whenever your device is locked.
• App sandboxing: Apple's app sandbox ensures no other app can access data stored by Clarity in Love.
• No external attack surface: Because no data is ever transmitted to any server, there is no database to breach, no server to compromise, and no credentials to steal.

The security of your data is as strong as the security of your iPhone itself. We strongly recommend using a device passcode or Face ID/Touch ID.

9. Data Retention

When you delete the App from your iPhone, iOS permanently removes all associated data. This deletion is immediate and irreversible.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, if we add new features that change how data is handled, or to reflect changes in applicable law.

When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we will also notify you via an in-app message on the next time you open the App.

Your continued use of the App after any changes are posted means you accept the updated policy. If you disagree with any changes, please stop using the App and delete it from your device.
