🗓️

Before you go

A few simple steps before you leave home.

Tell someone where you're going Share the venue name, address, and time with a friend or family member before you leave. A quick message takes seconds.
Check the venue on Google Maps All Splits venues are public restaurants or dining spaces chosen through Google Places. Confirm the location and surroundings before heading out — especially if it's a new area for you.
Charge your phone Make sure your phone is charged before leaving. You may need it to navigate, communicate, or contact someone in an emergency.
Trust your instincts If something feels off before you go — about the venue, the group, or anything else — it is absolutely fine to cancel. Your comfort comes first.
Know your exit Have a plan for how you'll get home before you arrive. Public transport, a taxi app, or arranging a pickup ahead of time means you're never stuck.

🍽️

At the venue

What to keep in mind once you arrive.

Splits experiences are always in public Every venue on the platform is a public restaurant or dining space. There are always staff and other customers present.
You can always leave You are never obligated to stay. If you feel uncomfortable for any reason — with a person, the atmosphere, or the situation — leave. No explanation needed.
Staff are nearby Restaurant staff can help you if you feel unsafe. You can ask to use a back exit, call someone, or simply remove yourself from a situation quietly.
Don't share personal details you're not comfortable sharing You don't need to share your surname, address, workplace, or any personal information with other guests. Your first name is enough.
Watch your drink Don't leave your drink unattended, and don't accept drinks from people you don't know outside the table setting. Basic awareness goes a long way.

⚠️

If something feels wrong

Act immediately. Your safety is the priority.

Leave immediately Do not wait to see if the situation improves. If you feel threatened, uncomfortable, or unsafe — leave the venue. You can report and explain later.

Our commitment to your safety

✓

Venues come from Google Places. Every Splits venue is chosen through Google Places as a public dining establishment.

✓

Every report is reviewed. Every in-app safety report is reviewed by a member of the Splits team.

✓

Repeat offenders are permanently banned. Users who violate our safety standards receive no second chances. Permanent removal is enforced immediately on confirmed violations.

✓

Public venues only — always. Splits will never facilitate or encourage meetings at private residences or non-public locations. This is a platform rule, not a suggestion.
